This is an article culled from archive material, circa 1997.

The Prodigy is a simple, dual-oscillator analogue monosynth with a single filter and two three-stage envelopes. It also has oscillator sync. I consider it slightly overrated; certainly, it lacks the programming and modulation options of the MiniMoog, and has a rather weak sound. As a beginner's analogue keyboard, though, it's clearly laid out and easy to use.

I paid £95 for my unit back in 1986, before moving totally into MIDI, and sold it a few years later for around £80. Currently, units demand around £250, which is a stupid price, but not surprising for the trendy analogue set.
